I’ve portrayed the actress Margaret Dumont as Mrs. Claypoole, a wealthy heiress pestered by Groucho Marx as Mr. Driftwood sitting in their seats at the opera house. The plate on top functions as a serving platter, with butterflies flying around the piece emerging from her butterfly patterned opera gown. The piece is illustrated with scenes from the movie. This link will take you to my website with music and funny clips from the Marx Brothers films.
