Armchair Traveler
This piece was made at my residency at Guldagergaard, International Ceramic Research Center, Skælskør, Denmark, summer 2011. Images of my trip are on the armchair, a vehicle for sharing my special adventure.
The young boy on the back of the armchair is a bas-relief of a Norman Rockwell painting. The teenager sitting on the armchair is my version. He plays his trumpet, relaxed, into his music, and daydreaming.
9" x 9" x and 12" round rug with Royal Copenhagen inspired pattern, soneware, ceramic stains.
