I met him 2012, during the artist-in-residence at Guldagergaard, the International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark. I created this gift for Paul based on his recent blue and white giant tree, decaled onto porcelain tiles that now lives outside of the ceramic residency. In my portrait of him, he rides a Danish cargo bike to deliver his masterpiece.
