Japanese Archer

Makoto Yabe, a Japanese potter and master with clay, glaze and design, inspired the image on the tile. See him in the background demonstrating on the potter’s wheel for his adoring students. His last name, Yabe, means Archer. The setting sun, the water and Archer image were inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e, woodblock prints of the 17th – 20th centuries.
